The Day The World Stopped

Today is the 15th anniversary of the worst attack on american soil since Pearl Harbor. The 9/11 attacks are seared into our memories. I remember when they happened, I remember where I was at, and I remember watching it all unfold on my tv set. I was woken up by my step-dad, he knocked on my door and told me that America was under attack. I didn't know what he was talking about, so I turned on my tv. I turned it to Fox News (hey, I was much younger then, and I didn't know better, also at the time I was identifying as Republican). I saw one of the Twin towers smoking and in flames. They thought it was possibly an accident, then I watched in horror as the second plane hit the other tower, and change the course of history.

When that plane hit the second tower, that's when we knew it was an attack and not an accident. I remember watching the news non-stop for the rest of the day and several days after that, I watched the first sports event to take place after the attacks, WWE Smackdown. As a wrestling fan, even I questioned the move at the time, but once Vince McMahon explained it. I understood why he did it.

The History Channel will aired a special last Monday. Here is a clip.

It's a day that I won't ever forget. It's the kind of day I never want to see again.

What are your memories of that day, share them below.
